The Seaward EV100 Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) Tester is an all-in-one solution for ensuring electric vehicle charge points operate in the correct and safe manner, both at the point of installation and throughout its serviceable life as part of a periodic maintenance schedule in accordance with IEC61851.

Installation testing with the EV100

Operated by an intuitive user interface, the Seaward EV100 EVSE Charge Point Tester will simulate all of the most common charging cable ratings, conducting tests to verify the correct response from the vehicle charging point (Type 1 and Type 2) at the push of a button. These installation tests include:

  • Output voltage
  • Maximum available charging current
  • Insulation resistance
  • Earth loop impedance (non trip)
  • RCD trip time
  • Control pilot PWM measurements
  • Simulation of cable coding
  • Vent fan check (for applicable vented battery systems)

Fault diagnosis using the EV100

The Seaward EV100 EVSE Tester can also be used a comprehensive fault diagnosis tool. By simulating numerous electric vehicle fault conditions, the EV100 will automatically store electronic fault data, including disconnection time, fault amplitude, frequency and duty cycle of the pulse width modulation (PWM) signal between the vehicle charge point and the simulated electric vehicle.

Whilst basic data is displayed on the Seaward EV 100 LCD display, more comprehensive diagnostic data is electronically stored on an internal memory. This data can be downloaded using wireless NFC technology to an Android device running Seaward’s EVSEMobile App allowing for instant, remote sharing to third party engineers for further in-depth fault diagnosis, or electronic storage for traceability purposes.
